All-New 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid – Sporty, Fuel-Efficient, & Equipped With Advanced Technology

Fuel-efficient, unparalleled performance, sporty style, and comfort make the all-new 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid the perfect SUV for any adventure. Arriving Summer 2018, the RAV4 Hybrid is expected to lead its class for efficiency by lasting 600 miles per fueling. Demand for the RAV4 has nearly doubled over the last five years ranking it #1 in sales for the Toyota lineup. Listening to owners and dealers feedback over the years while innovating improvements may explain the RAV4s spike in demand. The 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid delivers advanced hybrid technology and two All-Wheel-Drive options. Its exterior redesign highlights a much more sophisticated, sporty, masculine, and aerodynamic body.  More options, packages, and trims will be available for 2019 RAV4 models to broaden its appeal.

One fill up = 600 miles…now that’s efficient!

Toyota considers the busy day-to-day lives that their RAV4 drivers may experience. During the redesign of the RAV4 the Toyota team focused on creating a more efficient vehicle to help you live a more efficient life.  Refueling your vehicle should be simple and easy and that it is with the new RAV4 Hybrid.

2019 RAV4 Hybrid models are equipped with:

  • 5L Dynamic Force inline-four-cylinder
  • Toyota Hybrid System II engine (THS II)
  • Electronically-Controlled Continuously-Variable Transmission (ECVT)
  • Standard FWD and eight-speed automatic transmission

Fuel-economy, horsepower, and torque figures have not been yet released but Toyota assures consumers it’ll be more powerful and stronger than the previous year. The Toyota Camry is equipped with the same Dynamic Force 2.5L four-cylinder producing 203-HP and 184-lb-ft of torque. Similar statistics can be expected from the RAV4. The all-new Hybrid features a pair of electric motors working to create the most powerful Hybrid. One of the electric motors assists the engine with turning the front wheels. The other electric motor works to power the rear axle. The rear motor compared to last year’s model produces 30 percent more power.

The latest Prius, C-HR, Camry, and 2019 RAV4 Hybrid are built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture. This allows the battery to be located under the rear seat as opposed to below the load bay. Thermal efficiency can reach up to 41 percent for 2019 RAV4 Hybrid models. This means only 60 percent of used energy in the gasoline is wasted in the form of heat and noise.

Two All-Wheel-Drive Hybrid Systems

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is available with two different hybrid systems. The more premium system utilizes rear-axle torque vectoring. This system can improve fuel economy and lessen parasitic drag on the highway due to its ability to mechanically disconnect the rear wheels. Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select feature is standard with both Hybrid AWD systems. It equips the vehicle with traction and engine-control settings to improve performance for all-weather driving. Handling, performance, and overall driving experience of the all-new RAV4 Hybrid are a few ways segment, industry, and owner expectations are exceeded.

Convenience, style, and comfort all in one cabin

An upscale and modern interior with advanced technology highlights:

  • 0-inch touchscreen (8.0-inch screen and satellite radio available)
  • Toyota’s Entune 3.0 software standard
  • WiFi hotspot (supported by Verizon data connection)
  • Apple CarPlay
  • Amazon Alexa hands-free voice-assistant (operates via Bluetooth with your cell phone)
  • Navigation is optional
  • Five convenient USB ports (one for each passenger)
  • Optional wireless Qi phone charger
  • 800-watt JBL premium audio system upgrade available

All-new dynamic, sporty, and bold design

The exterior redesign of the RAV4 is 0.4 inches wider than before and the wheelbase 1.2 inches longer giving it a more substantial appearance. It features an aerodynamic design and a taller ride height of more than half an inch from the ground than the previous RAV4 model. Some speculate the exterior redesign resembles the Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Cherokee. The more masculine structure of the all-new RAV4 is inspired by Toyota’s 4Runner and Tacoma truck. Some of the resemblances include wide-set front intakes, wider fenders, and upright grille. Its floating roof design may be inspired by Jeep’s Compass.

2019 RAV4 Hybrid models include enhanced design features and options. Reviews highlight the all-new RAV4 Hybrid delivers the best performance and style. The sport-themed 2019 RAV4 Hybrid XSE is the most premium trim available. It offers a standard two-tone exterior paint scheme and exclusive interior. Its black roof can be paired with the following colors:

  • Blizzard Pearl
  • Silvery Sky Metallic
  • Magnetic Gray-Metallic
  • Blueprint (all-new color)

The RAV4 Hybrid XSE interior exclusively comes standard mono-spec with a black softex material and blue design accents within the cabin. The 2019 RAV4 Hybrid is expected to be offered in 4 trim levels even though only 3 trim levels have been confirmed:

  • 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE
